DOWNTOWN AKRON — Sixty-four students from 34 high schools will receive Congressional Service Awards at events this month.
In Summit County, the recognition will take place Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Main Branch Library Auditorium, 60 S. High St.
In the West Side Leader coverage area, the following students will be honored: Daniel King and Laurel Marshall, Archbishop Hoban High School; Jesse Peterson and Kayla Sykes, Buchtel High School; Robert Makishi and Nicole Papoi, Copley High School; Jamie Gellner, Firestone High School; Christina Musin and Molly Myers, Our Lady of the Elms; Daniel Choi and Alice Yu, Revere High School; Theresa Bell and Paul Bozsik, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School; Katelyn Mann and Anthony Pacholewski, Walsh Jesuit High School; and Jennifer Cartmille and Adam Shega, Woodridge High School.
U.S. Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-District 13) established the program to recognize students for service to their schools and communities.
Recipients are nominated by their schools and must reside in or attend high schools located in Brown’s district.
