Cape recognizes January Students of the Month
Cape Henlopen High School held its January Student of the Month party Thursday, Jan. 29, sponsored by the Student Government Association. All teachers were given the opportunity to elect one student whom they feel is deserving of their nomination. Each student has, throughout the previous month, displayed commitment and a strong work ethic toward that class. Students were let out of class early toward the end of the day and attended a party with ice cream cake, Cape memorabilia and a special surprise. Representatives from Bad Hair Day? Salon, owned by L. Drexel Davison, attended the party and instead of giving away two gift certificates as expected, gave all 50 students gift certificates for its two locations in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
Students of the month included Chris McLaughlin, Zach Cutlip, Jazmine Frison, Alec Faust, Samatha Ballentine, Jenna Denbow, Brian Tappan, Bryan Schwartz, Elijah Fuller, Bessie Paylor, Andrew Westgate, Amanda Brittan, Carly Cassese, Ian Eckrote, Fred Slagle, Kristina Schwartz, Rebecca Pepper, Chris Hubley, Jazmine Queen, Kenny Lord, Malcolm Mapp, Maria Vasquez, Janine Bond, Alex Morris, Lesa Rankin, Montoz Hall, Shannon Desmond, Jay Clark, Amanda Boyer, Westley Craig, Katareena Geller, Cassie Gotto, Brian Meding, Turrell Bowe, Blake Hardy, Sunju Hwang, Nery Martinez, Hannah Smith, LaShawn Tripp, Sara Hurley, Shelby Chan, Christina Johnson, Susan VanDyke, Darell Ayers, Raelynn Grogan, Moniere Maye, Jalissa Cannon and Nizsa Daisey.
