Roan Creek Students Recognized For Good Citizenship
Roan Creek Elementary School
held ceremonies for Citizens of
the Year on May 29 and 30. This
program recognizes outstanding
citizenship of students based on
the pillars of character of responsibility,
integrity, honesty,
hardworking and displays good
citizenship to fellow students.
The students are nominated
throughout the year by their
peers and teachers. During the
yearend ceremony the Citizen of
the Year for each grade level was
announced as they were selected
by the Citizen of the Year
Committee.
They are as follows: Headstart
- Genesis Dishman, daughter of
Tiffany Dishman of Butler; Kindergarten
- Katlin Mink, daughter
of Mildred Proffitt and Richard
Mink of Mountain City; First
Grade - Kenneth Brown, son of
Greg and Angela Brown of
Mountain City; Second Grade -
Lacy Canter, daughter of bobby
and Rose Canter of Trade; Third
Grad e- Josh Farrow, son of
Danny and Tammy Farrow of
Mountain city; Fourth Grade -
Torie Crowder, daughter of
Johnny and Toni Crowder of Butler;
Fifth Grade - Jessica Baber,
daughter of Randy and Janet
Baber of Mountain City; Sixth
Grade - Savannah Brown,
daughter of Greg and Angela
Brown of Mountain City. The Primary
Grades Citizen of the Year
- Coty Brewer, son of Jim and
Debbie Brewer of Butler. The
Secondary Grades Citizen of the
Year - Jordan Potter, son of Jeff
and Lisa Potter of Mountain City.
Each student received a plaque
commemorating this honor.
Also on Honors Day Chris
Cannett was recognized and presented
a medal for outstanding
bravery and citizenship for recently
rescuing his younger
brother during an accident. In
addition, the Roan Creek Elementary
PTO presented Principal,
Mrs. Margaret Wallace, with
a plaque commemorating her as
the first principal for the first year
at the new school.
