Revere students’ winning art on display
BATH — Revere High School students were honored recently at the Kent State Scholastic Art Winners competition for 2006, according to art teacher Paulette Colantone.
More than 3,000 art images and photographs were judged and 330 pieces were selected for display.
The awards range from honorable mentions to gold keys.
The artwork of those winning silver keys is displayed locally, while the gold key winners’ pieces are displayed locally, then sent to New York to compete for state or national recognition and exhibits.
Winners included:
• Christina Brown: three gold keys
• Anastasia Kluczarov: two silver keys • Jennifer Esterle: one silver key
• Jessica Knopp: one silver key
• Alyssa Maas: one silver key
• Johnny Palazzo: one silver key
The students’ photographs will be displayed at the new Campus Center at Kent State University’s Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Ave. N.W., through Feb. 9.
The exhibit is open Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
An awards ceremony will take place Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. at the center.
