• BATH — Casey Mazzotti, a student at Old Trail School, has been accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum.
Mazzotti will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C., Oct. 2-8 to earn high school credit while studying leadership and exploring some of the United States’ most prominent monuments.
Mazzotti was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
• WEST AKRON — As a Marshall Scholar in 2006, Jessica Hohman, a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms and Miami University, will study health policy, planning and financing at the University of London’s School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom.
Hohman is the recipient of numerous awards for academic achievement and research and also has won the Bausch and Lomb Science Award and the Xerox Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
She is a member of Miami MED, the Golden Key International Honour Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Hohman plans to work as a primary care physician and on government initiatives aimed at achieving universal health care.
