DOWNTOWN AKRON — U.S. Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-District 13) will host two events Oct. 29 honoring 69 students from 35 high schools who will receive the 2005 Congressional Service Awards.
The Summit County event will take place at 11 a.m. in the auditorium at the Main Branch Library, 60 S. High St., and will honor the following Summit County students: Paul Chiarappa and Kristen Minrovic, Archbishop Hoban High School; Cedric Johnson and Brittany Somerville, Buchtel High School; James Regennitter and Tracy Meng, Copley High School; Chadwick Klein and Sarah Swirsky, Firestone High School; Adam Gibson and Tessa Villers, Norton High School; Catherine Ann Hace and Mary Elizabeth Wilkins, Our Lady of the Elms; Evan Moore and Priscilla Ju, Revere High School; Matt Mezger and Heather Carone, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School; and Christopher B. Durr and Rachel Pike, Woodridge High School.
Brown established the program to recognize students for service to their schools and communities.
Recipients are nominated by their schools and must reside in or attend high schools located in Brown’s district.
