Fourteen Worthington High School Business Professionals of America students have advanced to state competition March 8-10 in Minneapolis.

The students earned first, second or third place at the Jan. 26 Region Spring Leadership Conference at Granite Falls Community & Technical College.

Advancing to state, their contest and placement at region competition include: Aaron Vasecka, Justin Betz and Grant Haas, Web site Development Team, first; Ashley Bergjord, Entrepreneur, second; Austin Aker, Management Concepts, first; Austin Aker, Matthew Miller and Katie Wilson, Economic Research Team, second; Bethany Obermoller, Legal Concepts, first; Bethany Obermoller, Ingrid Rickers, Kim Sieve and Abby Wiltrout, Economic Research Team, first; Craig Ailts, Legal Concepts, third; Grant Haas, Desktop Publishing, first; Hannah Kietel, Application/Interview Skills A, third; Ingrid Rickers, Medical Office Procedures, first; Justin Betz, Verbal Communications-Extemporaneous I, first; Katie Wilson, Keyboarding, third; Kim Sieve, Application/Interview Skills B, first; Lisa Somnis, Computer-Aided Graphics, second; and Lisa Somnis, Entrepreneur, first.

The 25-member WHS BPA Chapter earned 38 awards at the regional competition.
