Brescia College conducted its 45th annual commencement ceremony May 9, 1998. Graduates and their degrees, as well as any honors received are:

Jamie Breedlove, Henderson, summa cum laude, bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in women's studies, High Scholastic Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Psychology Award and named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Julie Grant, Leitchfield, magna cum laude, bachelor of science degree in accounting, Brescia College Annual Alumni Award, The Wall Street Journal Achievement Award, Owensboro Chapter Institute of Management Accountants Award of Distinction, Alpha Chi Award and named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Amanda Decker, Bedford, Ind., bachelor of science degree in early elementary education, Outstanding Student Teacher in Elementary.

Melissa Powers, Hawesville, bachelor of science degree in middle grades education, Outstanding Student Teacher in Middle Grades.

Joanna McDowell, Owensboro, bachelor of science degree in special education with emphasis in learning behavior disorders with teacher's certification in grades K-12 and middle grades 5-8, Outstanding Student Teacher in Middle Grades and "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Rebecca Payne, Philpot, cum laude, bachelor of arts degree in social studies with certification in secondary education, Outstanding Student Teacher in Secondary.

Lisa Bridges, Owensboro, magna cum laude, bachelor of arts degree in English, Lucinda Clements Award in Literature.

Richard Cecil, Owensboro, bachelor of arts degree in psychology and English, Achievement in Original Poetry Award and "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Joshua Settles, Owensboro, bachelor of science in social work degree with a minor in English, Achievement in Original Fiction Award.

Michael Ray, Owensboro, cum laude, bachelor of science degree in computer and mathematical science, Fourth Year Programming Award.

Erika Krzton-Presson, Utica, bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics, Outstanding Math Student Award and named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Jeff Cecil, Owensboro, cum laude, bachelor of science in social work degree, Outstanding Achievement in Social Work Award, has been accepted to the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville.

Heather Horton, Owensboro, bachelor of science degree in accounting, Outstanding Accounting Student Award and "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Douglas Pund, cum laude, Louisville, bachelor of science degree in business with an emphasis on management and marketing, Outstanding Business Student Award and named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities."

Betty Perry, Owensboro, cum laude, Alpha Chi Medallion, named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities" and accepted to the master of science in social work program of the University of Southern Indiana.

Misty Waldeck, Louisville, cum laude, bachelor of science degree in biology, Alpha Chi Medallion, named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities" and has been accepted to the University of Louisville Dental School.

Christina Maxwell, Owensboro, bachelor of science of social work degree and has been accepted to the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville.

Lexie Blue, Owensboro, bachelor of science degree in special education with emphasis in learning and behavior disorders with teacher's certification in K-12 grades and middle grades 5-8.
