Cynthia Bogusky and Aloiya Earl lead the Bedford High School Class of 2008 as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. Also graduating with honors are Kelsey Beachum, Joshua Clark, Laura Benge, Heather Goodwin, David Slaughter, Daniel Olsen, Amy Towell and Keely Blosh.
Cynthia Bogusky
Cynthia is the daughter of Dennis and Catherine Bogusky of Temperance. She is a member of the National Honor Society and studies piano. She earned honors in geometry, pre-calculus and English and was a third-place winner in the University of Toledo's Foreign Language Day. She plans to major in mathematics and biology at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.
Aloiya Earl
Aloiya is the daughter of Jim and Cathi Muncy and Scott and Jennifer Earl, all of Lambertville. She is president of the National Honor Society and editor of the school newspaper. She was named an Academic All-Star by the Monroe County Education Association. She earned varsity letters and scholar-athlete honors in cross country and track. She is a member of Crossroads Community Church and its youth group. She plans to major in exercise science.
Kelsey Beachum
Kelsey is the daughter of Steven and Janet Beachum of Lambertville. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Mock Trial, Girl Scouts, marching band and jazz combo and earned honors for performance at district and state music festivals. She will major in environmental science at Michigan State University, East Lansing. She has been accepted in the honors program and will serve as a faculty assistant.
Joshua Clark
Joshua is the son of Mark Clark and Leanne Clark, both of Lambertville. He serves as secretary of the National Honor Society and was a participant in the SEC leadership conference. He earned varsity letters and scholar-athlete honors in soccer and was named All-District, All-SEC, All-County, Offensive Most Valuable Player and All-Around All-Star. He also received the Bob Andrews Booster Award. He plans to major in pre-pharmacy at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received the Michigan Promise Scholarship.
Laura Benge
Laura is the daughter of David and Nancy Benge of Temperance. She is a member of the National Honor Society, German Club and German Honor Society. She was named German-American Festival Society Scholar of the Year and earned honors for art. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its youth group. She plans to major in early childhood education at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee. She received the WLC Presidential Scholarship.
Heather Goodwin
Heather is the daughter of Manny and Kelly Manuelidis of Temperance and Trevor and Mia Goodwin of Sunrise, Fla. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Principal's Advisory Committee. She earned varsity letters and scholar-athlete honors in basketball and track and was named All-SEC and All-Region in basketball. She is a volunteer for therapeutic riding.
David Slaughter
David is the son of Lance and Mary Slaughter of Lambertville. He is a member of the Principal's Advisory Committee and earned honors in geometry, marketing and community service. He has been active in intramural volleyball and basketball and serves as a volunteer tutor. He plans to major in packaging at Michigan State University, East Lansing.
Daniel Olsen
Daniel is the son of Curtis and Nancy Olsen of Temperance. He is a member of the Chess team and German Honor Society and has earned Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America. He has earned honors in chess and is a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church and its youth group. He also volunteers with the church's food pantry. He plans to major in civil engineering at Michigan State University, East Lansing.
Amy Towell
Amy is the daughter of John and Jackie Towell of Lambertville. She is a member of the French Club, Student Council, Link Crew, Young Life and the Principal's Advisory Committee. She was active in track and field and served as a volunteer for the Cherry Street Mission and American Red Cross. She plans to major in zoology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisc. She received a Navy ROTC Scholarship.
Keely Blosh
Keely is the daughter of Wayne and Roberta Blosh of Ottawa Lake. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Link Crew and Project Outreach and served as chairman of the prom committee. She is an executive board member of Youth Leadership Toledo. She is a member of Lambertville United Methodist Church and served on a youth mission trip to Kentucky. She plans to major in chemical engineering at Michigan Technological University, Houghton. She received the Michigan Promise and Youth Leadership Toledo Scholarships.
