College Honor Rolls
Missouri Western honors local senior
Natalie Comer, Independence, was selected to the dean`s honor roll for the spring 1998 semester at Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph. To be eligible for the honor roll, students must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average and carried at least 12 graded credit hours.
Comer, the daughter of Mark and Linda Comer, also received a scholastic certificate at the 1998 Professional Studies Honors Convocation on April 26. To qualify for the award, juniors and seniors must maintain at least a 3.75 grade point average.
Student honored, will study in Ireland
Jeffrey Ellis, Independence, was named to the dean`s honor roll for the spring 1998 semester at the University of Missouri-Columbia. To be eligible for the honor roll, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester as well as at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
Ellis, a 1995 graduate of Truman High School, will also spend the fall semester studying at the University of Limerick in Ireland.
Georgetown student named to honor roll
Erica Lou Ratliff, Independence, has been named to the A honor roll for the spring 1998 semester at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky. Students named to the honor roll must have earned at least a 3.75 grade point average and carried at least 12 semester hours.
Central Methodist recognizes student
Sarah Farris, Independence, has been named to the dean`s list for the spring 1998 semester at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo.
To be named to the dean`s list, students must have attended the college full time and earned at least a 3.5 grade point average.
Graceland College honors area scholars
Several Independence residents studying at Graceland College received academic honors for the 1998 spring semester.
Students who earned a 4.0 grade point average during the semester were named to the president`s list. Those students were: Kelly M. Bear, Matt Binnicker, Shawna Cooper, Stephanie Geeding, Katie Hettrick, Amy B. Jones, Carrie King, Amy Schawb, Tara S. Smith, Cathy Corrie and Doug P. Roberts.
Students who earned a grade point average between 3.65 and 3.99 were named to the honors list. Those students are: Addam Fera, Chris Corrie, Heidi Roxburgh, Peter Cornish, Amy Eubanks, J. Seth Farrow, Sarah Gustafson, Patrick L. Twitchell, Jennifer Benson, Adrean Bolt and David C. Tucker.
Studetns who earned a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.64 were named to the dean`s list. Those students are: Benjamin J. Ingram, Cara Renfro, Jennifer Summers, Kristan L. Summers (Sugar Creek), Melanie Lowry, Jennifer McCarrison, Sarah M. Palmer, Steven D. Ward and Ryan Carver.
Students on these lists must have been enrolled in at least 12 semester hours, nine of which must have been graded.
