College Honor Rolls
University of Kansas honors five from area
Five Independence residents were named to the honor roll for the spring 1998 semester at the University of Kansas.
Honor roll criteria vary among the colleges at the university. Some honor the top 10 percent of students enrolled, some establish a minimum grade point average, and others raise the minimum for each year students are in school. Students must complete a minimum number of credit hours to be considered.
Independence residents named to the honor rolls are: Kara Delaney, School of Pharmacy; Nicole Butkovich and April Smith, both College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Stephanie Parks, and Christina Watts, both School of Allied Health.
Drake University honors local woman
Sutton Meagher, Independence, was named to the dean`s list for the spring 1998 semester at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Students named to the dean`s list must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average.
Central Methodist honors area student
Kelly Johnson, Independence, was named to the spring 1998 semeseter dean`s list at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. Students named to the dean`s list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average attending full time.
Two on dean`s list at Westminster College
Molly Selders and Ross Fowler, both of Independence, were named to the dean`s list for the spring 1998 semester at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.
Students named to the dean`s list must have earned at least a 3.6 grade point average and completed at least 12 credit hours.
