College Honor Rolls
Park College honors city police detective
William Forbes was named the outstanding graduate for 1998 at the Park College Independence center campus. Forbes, a detective for the Independence Police Department, was graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
Washington University honors local students
Rachel Cianciolo and Timothy Dorsch, both of Independence, were named to the dean's list for the spring 1998 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.
Cianciolo is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cianciolo. Dorsch is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Dorsch.
Abilene Christian cites two from area
Brooke Lucas and Jonathan Wilson, both of Independence, were named to the dean's honor roll for the spring 1998 semester at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
To make the honor roll, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours and earn at least a 3.45 grade point average.
A sophomore theater major at ACU, Lucas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lucas. Wilson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilson and a sophomore biology major.
Park College names dean's list students
Several Independence students were named to the dean's list for the spring 1998 semester at Park College.
To be eligible for the dean's list, students must be full-time students and earn at least a 3.6 grade point average during the semester.
Students named to the list are: Kelly Beale, Sandra Brock, Whitney Curtis, Melissa Farris, Rebecca Greenstreet, Victoria Jones, Patricia Lovett, Mercedes Mendoza, Denise Noble, James Pippenger, Jason Smith and Mindy Walker.
