Fort Scott Community College
Aaron M. Rieder, Independence, has been named to the president`s honor roll for the fall 1997 semester at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kan. To be eligible for the president`s honor roll, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and be enrolled in 12 or more hours.
Missouri Western
State College
Three Independence residents have been named to the dean`s honor roll and the president`s honor roll for the fall 1997 semester at Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph. To be eligible for the dean`s honor roll, students must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average and carried at least 12 hours of graded classes. To be eligible for the president`s honor roll, students must have earned at least a 4.0 grade point average and carried at least 12 credit hours.
Glenda Dunlap, a freshman, and Matt Wiss, a senior, were both named to the dean`s honor roll.
Amber Wilson, a freshman, was named to the president`s honor roll.
Southwest Missouri State University
Several Independence residents have been named to the honor roll for the fall 1997 semester at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield.
Students named to the list earned at least a 3.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least six credit hours.
Independence residents named to the honor roll are: Andrea Becker, Travis Beye, Brad Drinkwater, Anthony Hancox, Rachel Hayes,Rachel Johnson, Jamie Martin, Melanie Morrison, Charity Phillips, Richard Schmidt, and Joseph Ulberg.
Other area residents named to the honor roll were: Michael Brown and Samantha Gussman, both of Buckner.
University of Oklahoma
Karen Bannister, Independence, was named to the honor roll for the fall 1997 semester at the University of Oklahoma at Norman. To be eligible for the honor roll, students must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average and carried at least 12 credit hours.
Hope College
Crystal Sprouse, daughter of Sharon Sprouse and Donald Sprouse, both of Independence, has been named to the dean`s list for the fall 1997 semester at Hope College in Holland, Mich. To be named to the dean`s list, a student must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
