Farrell Area High School students were honored at a Recognition Day ceremony on May 22.
Students and their awards:
Kelly Whitman _ Dr. David T. Williams Memorial Award for citizenship and leadership, $100 bond; Shenango Valley Performing Arts Guild award, $100; Music Guild Award, $100; and Student Council Award, $100 bond.
James Wheaton _ Paul A. Komar Memorial Art Award, $50 bond.
Joy Seltzer _ Mary A. Bialko Memorial Award, $100.
Jaaron Graham _ Anthony L. Kilbert Memorial Award for science, $200 bond; Marine Corps award for scholastic achievement; Kiwanis Club Award to highest ranking student, $200; Air Force math and science award; Air Force ROTC Award; Michael Maker Award for highest ranking senior, $100; and J.R. Mirizio and Sons Award for math, $100 bond.
Tiffani Hodges, Shekeema Johnson, Sean Kirkland and Kevin Ruff _ Pennsylvania Career Program for Youth (PAC) outstanding achievement awards, $25 each.
PAC excellence awards _ Anthony Archie, creativity; and Tommie Kitt, leadership; $25 each.
Sara Boliver _ Strimbu Memorial Award, $1,000; P.E.N.S. Organization Award for community service, $100; and Kiwanianne Club Award for community service, $50.
Michael Mondich _ Marine Corps Semper Fi Award for musicianship; and Music Guild Award, $100.
Jill Platteborze _ Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award; Farrell Teachers Association Award for pursuing career in education, $200; and Charles P. Branca Memorial Award for volleyball play, $100 bond.
Sonya Crosby _ Class of 1951 Award for college-bound student, $200 bond.
