Seven Alumni Due Induction to MHS Hall of Fame
Seven alumni will be inducted into the McKeesport High School Hall of Fame Oct. 3, when McKeesport High School Alumni and Friends Association marks its 12th annual Alumni Recognition Night.
This year’s class includes:
William J. Cox, Class of 1922 — president of The Daily News Publishing Co.
Anne Sigmund Camic, Class of 1939 — businesswoman, teacher, civic servant and volunteer in the McKeesport community.
Donald Beattie, Class of 1944 — began his career at National Tube then went on to manage and find tubular product companies.
Bertha Mae Robinson Chaplin, Class of 1946 — founder and current executive director of the McKeesport Preschool for Exceptional Children, now Long Run Children’s Learning Center.
George Sotereanos, Class of 1948 — oral surgeon and long-time University of Pittsburgh dental and medical school faculty member.
Major A. Mason III, Ph.D., Class of 1958 — educator, institutional planner and community leader.
USAF Major Valerie Lindahl Moore, Class of 1979 — Chief, Joint Defense Planning Systems, U.S. Army Command and General Officer Course, Department of Joint and Combined Operations, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
