BHS conducts Honor Society induction
The National Honor Society, a character leadership and scholarship service, conducted its 2012-2013 induction ceremony on Sunday for Belfry High seniors and junior class members.
The Honor Society Pledge reads as follows:
“I pledge myself to always seek the light of truth, to hold scholarly habits, to engage in worthy service, and to lead forward in all things that shall advance the welfare of the school. I pledge myself to uphold the high purpose of this society to which I have been elected, striving in every way by word and deed to make its ideals the ideals of my school and life.”
The following Belfry students received the esteemed honor of being inducted in the 2012-2013 National Honor Society:
Seniors: Grace Baldwin, Paul Bevins, Jordon Blackburn, Kirkland Blackburn, Sasha Brown, Kristen Campbell, Dalton Chapman, Megan Dillon, Jacob Hatfield, Madison Justice, Karen Lovern, Ashley Miller, Joseph Parks, Zachary Smith, David Thaxton, Gideon Workman, Jerred Workman and Rachel Yates.
Juniors: Shannon Ashley, Terionna Bentley, Syndi Bogar, Kelsey Bowen, Danishai Casey, Alissa Church, Staci Coleman, Lance Compton, Logan Copley, Joey Duty, Alyssa Elswick, Kearia Farley, Zack Grimmet, Alysha Harlow, Ty Hensley, Caitlyn Hunt, Kayla Justice, Kristen Lockard, Coty Marcum, Gabriel Maynard, Alex Mendoza, Taygan Mullins, Brian Preece, Kendra Price, Maecie Rollins, Taylor Runyon, Patricia Stacy, Jacob Staggs, Amber Stanley, Jessica Stanley, Savannah Swafford, Victoria Tackett, Zachary Thompson, Emily Toney, Mickayla Walters and Skyler Worley.
The event welcome was delivered by Andrew Bevins, President of the Belfry Honor Society. Invocation was provided by Gideon Workman and Bevins also gave the explanation of the Honor Society Emblem. The charge of the objectives of the National Honor Society was delivered by former Kentucky Gov. Paul E. Patton.
