Governor Honors MCSA Members
On October 17, 2000, the Governor honored several Morgan County Student Assembly (MCSA) members at the Ice House with recognition certificates for their hard work in connecting students and technology in schools and in the community.
These members, past and present, were Zach Caldwell, Beth Coble, Hannah Colie, Natalie Deneen, Danielle Fox, Josh Fox, Morgan Harmison, Jacob Lynn, Maxie Maggio, Laura Michael, Hannah Murray, Lara Omps, Brittney Parril, Charley Phillips, Tracie Potts, Shane Pryor, Shonda Ridgeway, Melissa Smith, Laurel Thomas, Andrew Welch, Amanda Willard, Jessie Willard, and Amy Zahnow.
Three of the originial founding members, current President Andrew Welch, current Vice President Maxie Maggio, and former Vice President/Treasurer Hannah Colie presented Governor Underwood with a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the MCSA.
They thanked him for incorporating technology in most West Virginia schools, and thus advancing the learning process for students in our state.
The BSHS band and chorus also performed at the ceremony under the direction of Mr. Corrothers and Mr. Thomas. Both musical groups sounded excellent, and proved that music here is alive and well, as the Governor stated.
Following the ceremony was a rally in the Berkeley Springs State Park for the Republican candidates, where free hot dogs and soda were served to the public.
