On Saturday, March 27, Orangefield High school competed in the 21-3A District UIL Literary Meet at Silsbee High School.
Orangefield placed second in the overall standings.
Eleven students will be advancing to the Regional Competition in Brenham, Texas on Saturday, April 24th.
The Spelling team placed first overall.
As individuals, Dustin Monceaux placed first, Bria Crain placed second, Meredith Guzman placed third.
The Speech Team placed second overall.
In Informative Speaking, Elana Newell placed third. In Persuasive Speaking, Constance Ingram was first.
In Poetry Interpretation, Leah Matlock placed third.
In Prose Interpretation, Devan Ficken placed second.
The Journalism Team placed second overall.
In Editorial and Feature Writing, Shane Marburger placed first and second respectively.
The Social Studies Team of Josh Shores, Bria Crain, Derek Baker, and Ashlyn Lopez placed second overall, with Shores placing second as an individual.
The Accounting team of Ariel Sherman, Michaela Tremont, Reagan Dressler, and Shelby Poole place second overall.
In LD Debate, Elizabeth Newell placed second. In Computer Applications, Bria Crain placed third.
