Luke Mayeux, a fifth-grader at St. Mary Catholic School, won First in the Medicine, Health and Grooming category of the Invention Convention held Thursday, March 1.
His project, an Independent Feeding Tube Holder, was special for Luke.
It was inspired by his baby brother Michael who was born in November with health problems.
Michael spent his first month in the hospital and required a feeding tube and 24-hour care.
Luke recognized that it was necessary for his parents, Ruby and Paul Mayeux, to hold the feeding tube up in the air and their arms would get tired.
