HIGH FIVE ACADEMIC AWARDS TO LOCAL STUDENTS
The February 2005 High Five winners were:
Kristen Root and Kristina Friedman of Amador High School;
Stephen Irvin, John Williamson, Chloe Wilson, Ashley Snyder and Christina White, from Argonaut High School;
Antoinette Allen, Jeremy Bapdis, Kerry Eaton, Josh Long, Kacey Millikan, Brian Poor, Lindsey Ryan, Sloan Schauer, Jessica Soderston and Ryan Zorrozua of Independence High School;
Heather Cooper, Christopher Meyers, Michael Mikula, Alexandrea Proano and Orianna Trau on Ione Junior High School;
Gesse Barnes, Krystal Gusman, Joseph London and Matthew Riebe of Jackson Junior Highs School;
Janelle Raisch Decker of Pioneer Elementary School;
Jesse Carney of Ione Elementary School;
and William Cantando and Joseph D'Imperio of Sutter Creek Elementary School.
Seventeen of the above students have GPAs over 3.0. Only two had GPAs that high on their last report card from the first quarter of 2004-2005 and seven have GPAs over 3.5.
The average improvement for high school students listed above was far above 0.5. It was 1.27.
