Local Students Make Dean’s List At Lees-McRae College

Dr. Jeffrey Welsh, vice president for academic affairs at Lees-McRae College announced the Dean’s List for the fall semester 2002.
A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required to make the Lees-McRae College Dean’s list.

Students who made the list were:

Andrea G. Buchanan of Crossnore who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Billie K. Charney of Banner Elk who is a senior elementary education major, a graduate of Paradise Valley High School and the daughter of Ellen and Dennis Charney of Phoenix;

Sharon C. Cropper of Linville who is a junior organizational management and development major in LMC’s Boone bachelor’s completion program and a graduate of Avery County High School;

Jo Anne Danielson of Crossnore who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Melissa F. Gragg of Newland who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Sheila A. Greene of Spruce Pine who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Angela R. Hopson of Banner Elk who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Natalja Jegorova of Banner Elk who is a senior business major and the daughter of Olga and Vjacheslav Jegorov of Salaspils, Latvia;

Mary E. Johnson of Spruce Pine who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Julia H. Perry of Linville who is a junior organizational management and development major in LMC’s Boone bachelor’s completion program and a graduate of Oak Hill Academy;

Glenna Puckett of Newland who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Tabetha J. Rosenbusch of Beech Mountain who is a junior history major, a graduate of Carondelet High School and the daughter of Rebecca and Dennis Garman of Banner Elk;

Ashlie B. Ware of Linville who is a senior and the daughter of Catherine and Donald Bowden;

April L. Greene of Linville Falls who is a senior elementary education major and the daughter of Jewell and Michael Greene of Linville Falls;

Christopher D. Guinn of Linville Falls who is a junior business major, a graduate of Avery County High School and the son of Cindy and Frank Guinn of Linville Falls;

Raymond B. Manis of Newland who is a senior physical education major and the son of Terry and Mike Manis of Newland;

Kristen M. Ramsey of Banner Elk who is a freshman, a graduate of Avery County High School and the daughter of Sandy and Robert Ramsey of Banner Elk;

Lella M. Shaffner of Banner Elk who is a senior biology naturalist studies and English communications major, a graduate of Avery County High School and the daughter of Lynne and Donald Shaffner of Banner Elk;

Barbara E. Windle-Connell of Banner Elk who is a senior English literature major with a minor in history;

Cassandra S. Forbes of Pineola who is a senior organizational management and development major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program;

Lori A. Lewis of Newland who is a sophomore organizational management and development major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program, a graduate of Avery County High School and the daughter of Sue and Stuard Lewis of Newland;

and Deborah K. Robinson of Spruce Pine who is a senior nursing major in LMC’s Mayland Community College bachelor’s completion program.

Lees-McRae is a four-year, co-educational liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church U. S. A, located in the mountains of western North Carolina in the town of Banner Elk.

The college is dedicated to service learning and offers majors in twenty-four fields.
